Three Flavour Quark Matter in Chiral Colour Dielectric Model
We investigate the properties of quark matter at finite density and temperature using the nonlinear chiral extension of Colour Dielectric Model (CCM). Assuming that the square of the meson fields devlop nonzero vacuum expectation value, the thermodynamic potential for interacting three flavour matter has been calculated. It is found that < K2 > and < η2 > remain zero in the medium whereas < π2 ...

The possibility of the existence of quark matter dates back to early seventies. Bodmer remarked that matter consisting of deconfined up, down and strange quarks could be the absolute ground state of matter at zero pressure and temperature. If this is true then objects made of such matter, so-called ”strange star”, could exist. There are several proposed mechanisms for formation of quark stars. ...

We study the equation of state (EOS) of quark matter at zero temperature, using the Color Dielectric Model (CDM) to describe confinement. Sensible results are obtained in the version of the CDM for which confinement is imposed smoothly. The two–phases version of the model turns out to give unrealistic results for the EOS. Chiral symmetry plays a marginal rôle and the quarks are massive till hig...

Abstract. In this talk I review studies of hadron properties in bosonized chiral quark models for the quark flavor dynamics. Mesons are constructed from Bethe–Salpeter equations and baryons emerge as chiral solitons. Such models require regularization and I show that the two–fold Pauli–Villars regularization scheme not only fully regularizes the effective action but also leads the scaling laws ...

We discuss the stability of multiquark systems within the recent model of Glozman et al. where the chromomagnetic hyperfine interaction is replaced by pseudoscalar-meson exchange contributions. We find that such an interaction binds a heavy tetraquark systems QQq̄q̄ (Q = c, b and q = u, d) by 0.2− 0.4 GeV. This is at variance with results of previous models where ccq̄q̄ is unstable. 1 e-mail: u2162...
